With many students off from school for Columbus Day on Monday, October 12, Abma’s Farm is inviting families to swap the classroom routine for a day of hayrides, pumpkin picking, corn mazes and farm animals at its Hillsborough location.
The farm’s seasonal Fall Fun Package brings several autumn activities together in one ticket. Visitors start with a round-trip hayride through the property to the pumpkin patch and corn mazes. Families can explore the full-size maze or take the shorter Popcorn Trail, an option designed with younger children in mind.
The trip also includes access to the pumpkin patch, where guests can choose a pumpkin to take home. Pumpkins are not included in the admission price; they are sold separately by weight, with cash required for purchases in the field.
After the ride, families can visit the farm’s petting zoo and education barn. Abma’s Hillsborough animal residents include goats, sheep, alpacas, donkeys, cows and other farm animals. The education barn gives visitors a closer look at life on a working farm, from raising livestock to growing crops and the role of bees in pollination.
The Hillsborough farm, at 282 Amwell Road, is an extension of the Abma family’s longstanding farming operation based in Wyckoff. Although the farm has activities at both locations, the Hillsborough destination is the one offering the corn maze and Popcorn Trail as part of this package.
The Fall Fun Package is listed at $19 per person, with tickets required for visitors ages 2 and older. Advance online booking is required. The package is offered during the fall season on holidays, weekdays and Saturdays, and the farm is closed on Sundays.
